Troop 63 Financial Aid Policy
Objective
Troop 63’s commitment to all Scouts within Troop 63 is to make their scouting experience full, complete and worthwhile. Every Scout deserves to attend any/all-authorized trips and shouldn’t miss them due to a lack of funds.
Eligibility
To be eligible for need-based financial aid, a scout must:
-Be a registered scout in Troop 63.
-Plan to attend a camping trip or program operated by Troop 63.
-Be active in his patrol and troop, including attending troop meetings regularly.
-Secure the approval of his parent or guardian and his unit leader.
-Be in need of assistance.
-Follow the procedure listed below.
Request Procedure
A parent of a Scout should email either: (1) the Scoutmaster, (2) Committee Chairperson or (3) Treasurer. These adult leaders will share the request among themselves – and no one else. Please provide a new, separate request for each trip/event. Please provide:

Troop 63 believes that a Scout should try to earn money to help offset the Financial Aid. The Scout can:
Confidentiality
All Financial Aid requests will be processed with the highest degree of confidentiality possible. The information you provide on the request will be kept strictly confidential.
CT Yankee Council Campership Program
The Connecticut Yankee Council has a Financial Aid program called Campership. The link to that program is: http://www.ctyankee.org/fs/page/001216/application2012.pdf.
This program is separate from the Troop 63 Financial Aid Policy.
Troop 63 reserves the right to modify/cancel this policy at its discretion.

Scout Participation
Troop 63 believes that a Scout should try to earn money to help offset the Financial Aid. The Scout can:
- Sell popcorn at the annual fundraiser
- Work additional shifts at the annual tree sale – an option for future years
